I wrote this poem from my own experiences. I reveals a conversation between God and me. I have included this and four other poems in my book Dialogue with the Master.
If God Would Answer "Why"
In all my painful moments
I never understood
How God in His omnipotence
Was working for my good.
I begged Him for the reasons
To all my many "whys".
"My thoughts are not your thoughts," He says,
And dries my weary eyes.
But what if God would answer?
Imagine what He'd say
To all my cries of "Why, Lord, why?"
What words would He convey?
Lord, why when I was sick so long
You didn't hear my prayer?
I HEARD, MY CHILD, AND SPARED YOUR LIFE,
AND TAUGHT YOU HOW TO CARE.
And Lord, the time I lost my job
And things were getting worse.
YOU HAD TO LOSE YOUR LIVELYHOOD
TO FIND THAT I"M YOUR SOURCE.
Why did you take my loved ones
And leave me all alone?
TO END THEIR PAIN, COMPLETE THEIR JOY,
SO THEY CAN WELCOME YOU HOME.
When enemies harassed me
Lord, I couldn't hear your voice.
I TAUGHT YOU HOW TO MEDITATE,
AND THROUGH IT ALL REJOICE.
Forgive me Lord for doubting you
And thank you for your love.
For all good things have come from you,
You send them from above.
YOU'RE FRAIL, MY CHILD, I UNDERSTAND.
BUT THIS YOU MUST RECALL,
MY SPIRIT LIVES WITHIN YOUR HEART,
I'LL NEVER LET YOU FALL.
In "A Touch of Your Presence" are words that would inspire, encourage and strengthen one's soul when faced with challenges and difficulties and to know the awesomeness of God's power.
