Poem Artwork

I am the princess warrior.
I fight wars to gain peace.
I make love to keep harmony.
I am a warrior of circumstances.

I may carry many scars,
I am as proud of them as a peacock.
These scars remind me of who I am,
and what I stand up to fight for.

My feelings are sacred, and fragile,
but my God gives me courage.
I am embraced by nature,
It carries God’s message to comfort me.

Whenever I love, I love in harmony.
I can be as gentle as a kitten’s purrs,
or as wild as a shameless tigress,
panting in abundant pleasure.

Whenever I fight in wars,
I fight against our enemies.
I am as fierce as a tigress,
I roar as loud as a lioness.

I fight wars to protect our lands,
our young ones and the elders.
I fight wars to defend our tribe,
hoping...all may gain peace.

Only a woman can be fierce and soft at the same time. This can be seen as a great tribute to all women.

Beautiful princess warrior! Her aim is to protect her own country and her own people. There isn't anything wrong with that. Beautiful picture and poem!

Excellent poetry.
Of course Ron is right, fighting never does seem to lead to true peace,
but sometimes it seems all we can do to protect those we love.
thank you for sharing

God bless the people who would fight to defend their own countries and their people. That should be the true purpose for any wars that need fighting! God bless you Sandie!

Hi all:

Thank you so much for your reviews! I have changed the second to the last line and use the word "defend" instead of "protect", so hopefully, this will make a difference to the poem's message. She has to fight in ordeer to protect and defend her own people. My last line says, "hoping...", so this is in the narrator's head that what she would hope for is..."all" (including her enemies) would gain peace.

Having been in combat I can only hope no one will have to fight in another as the scars are with you for life.

Fighting wars never seems to gain peace, only retaliation in later generations. But your poem seems to express hope that fighting for peace will gain it.
