Where are you?

As I was cleaning out my drawers I came across some poetry that were sent to me from a email account named MARO32atAOL.COM but this person has not left me his real name, nor did he finish off every email with a name for himself. His true identity remained hidden each time he sent me his poetry to my old email address in yahoo which I no longer use or have lost the password to gain access to it (sandangel_2000atyahoo.co.uk). I'm reading his poetry now and found that he was actually extremely-depressed at the time of sending those poems to me. So sorry, I didn't pay any attention to him at the time it was in July of 2000!

In his poetry he was talking to his soon-to-be ex-wife or ex-lover, and he was very depressed. I hope he did not plan or doing something harmful to himself. His poetry was well-written, he expressed his anger and disappointment of his love very well. They were heart-breaking! I have no idea why he chose to send me those poetry, perhaps he was asking me for help? So sorry, at that time I was helping another 16 years old boy who had just lost his step-father through cancer, a step-father who was like a real father to him since he was nine months old, and he wanted to commit suicide because he suddenly thought he was a burden to his mother. My focus had been on this boy to help him feel better about himself. He had since been feeling much better about himself and was able to have girlfriend and hold a relationship.

I am so sorry I have neglected this person who had sent me those heart-wrenching poetry. I hope he is now well and happily-married.

MARO32atAol.com:

I hope you are well and happy now. A one-sided love is always very painful and not good to keep. I hope after all these years you have found new loves and you are now happily married already since this happened in year 2000. I am very sorry I had not replied to any of your email that sent all these gut-wrenching poetry to me. Perhaps you were asking me for help, but I somehow had failed to acknowledge those poetry. Please let me know what I should do with these poems. There are many poems here which can easily be published into a tiny poetry book. If you see yourself in this post, just drop me a line.

If you want your poetry back I will forward these poems back to you so you can produce a book out of this fine poems. (Identity verification is required, you may send me one or two of the poems you have written and sent to me for verification so I know this is you. The poems do not have to be the same word for word but close enough for me to identify it is you). You may send your identity verification to:

sandie_may_angelatyahoo.ca
or sandiemayangelatgmail.com

I had them all printed out during that time to be read later, but so sorry I have not paid attention to them during that time. I hope you are well. Please let me know what I can do about these poems.

P.S. I've tried looking for you, but Aol doesn't seem to exist anymore on the net.

IN A CASE LIKE THIS, SANDIE, WHERE AN HONEST MISTAKE WAS MADE...WE HAVE TO TRUST GOD. HE ALREADY KNEW YOUR HEART AND SAW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, THUS HIS WILL WAS ULTIMATELY DONE AND HE HAD ALREADY PREPARED ANOTHER INTERVENTION, IN SOME WAY, FOR THE WRITER. WE ARE ALL HUMAN AND YOU SHOULD ONLY FEEL BAD IF YOUR ACTIONS WERE NOT DELIBERATE AND THEY WEREN'T. FOR YOUR SAKE I HOPE YOU MAKE CONTACT BUT IF THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN, SAY A PRAYER FOR THEM AND KNOW THAT GOD KNOWS WHO THEY ARE AND WHERE THEY ARE. THANKS FOR THE SHARE. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATION

Hi Marvin:

Thanks so much for the kind and insightful comment! I felt very bad when I've found this man's poems which had been stashed away for all these years without even giving this man the attention to his grieve. I was actually in tears when I read his poems and all I could do was to wish that his did not do anything to harm himself. I hope to God he is well and happy today.

Like you, in my life I had another opportunity as well to reach out to someone who was in need of friendship and help, but I was unaware of it at the time: When my daughter was in grade school, she had a classmate who had a grandmother. I knew the classmate's parents and was always happy to see them bring their child to school. However, my daughter classmate had revealed to my daughter one day that her parents wanted her grandmother to move out of their house. I had been thinking that was awful since the old woman did not have any husband (he was probably dead at the time) and wondered why the parents would want the grandmother to move out to another place by herself. However, since I didn't know the family well I did not ask my daughter for the detail.

I saw the grandmother one day as I was going to school to bring my children home. She was on the other side of the road. As we saw each other she waved at me and gave me a smile. I was late in going over to fetch my children so I did not cross the road to chat with her. I think at that time she was already living by herself. I only waved back at her and smiled, and I told her I was on my way to school to bring my children home. She nodded and walked on after that.

A few days later my daughter came home and told me police were called to the grandmother's apartment, and there was a lot of blood inside and the grandmother was dead. She told me the grandmother had committed suicide. I was flabbergasted! I did not know what to say or think. All I could think about was why did I not stop and chat with her a few days earlier? I felt so guilty because I thought perhaps she would not have killed herself had I stopped to chat with her. Perhaps she was feeling lonely and abandoned by her children and she needed a friend. All those thoughts have gone to my head and I felt so guilty for not chatting with her earlier. I didn't see that coming at all because she smiled at me. That incident had stayed in my mind for all these years and I still think about that grandmother from time to time. I remember her smile as if it was yesterday.

Anyway... I thank you and everyone who had taken the time to read this and commented on this. I appreciate all the thoughtful comments!

Since he sent the poetry to you anonymously, I don't see why you can't post the poems here with the disclaimer that they are anonymous.

You have made an effort to find him, and that's all that's necessary. I don't think you need his permission to post them after all this time. But if you fear copyright infringement, don't do it.

It's nice of you to be looking for this man and try to return his poetry. I hope you can find him. So much time had elapsed already.

A very touching account, Sandie. This is a kind effort on your part. Time has a way of speeding up as we grow older it seems to me. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis.

If I can't find the person with this email account, all these great poems of expression are going to go to waste as I will have no authority to post them or publish them. I hope I will be able to find this man and return this batch of poetry to him.
