Purple Flowers

Confinement and its painful confusion, especially, with in one's mind.

Purple Flowers

djbeaulieu

I watch the purple flowers grow on the wall.

I see how they grow so tremendously tall.

Up and up they grow and grow,

where there is no wind to blow,

where there is no sun to shine,

where there are no elements of life of any kind.

The four very tall confining walls.

And, the purple flowers grow and grow,

‘till they flow from wall to wall.

This is very poignant. I'd like to see a second verse. What is confining the author's mind at this point is his place of observance? I think you have a birth of a theme.
