McColley POETIC RECITE: "An Aphotic Sheath" An Aphotic Sheath.wma When stygian swords are removed from a caliginous sheath, The credulous blade would unmistakably know. When cryptic somber sliced into an enigmatical passage, Tenebrous dancers would undress their naked soul… To peer into quietus meanings unlit by candles shallow breadth; The ambiguous shadows lurk behind nomadic webs of sunless stones. Opaque words are no accident crossing through lightless eyes; Blazon by contemptuous scars under scrutiny of lusterless drones… A vociferous echo clouds within turbidity of unsought reasons, Where no lucid reflection would then be seen by valued light. For in the iridescent evidence of slain locutions anchorage, An aphotic sheath removes itself from sombrous intentions plight…

Some enigmatic imagery in this Vickie.
Aphotic - lacking light.

The image is so reminiscent (to me)
of the Pellucidar Series by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
Like a provoked warrior princess rankled
at some misbehavior or indiscretion.

"Stygian swords/caliginous sheathe"
An acheronean or hellish weapon removed from a dark or gloomy place of abode. Cutting into, or revealing, the mysteries behind
"sunless stones"
(a metaphor for ignorance?)
"Opague words"
"Lightless eyes"
"Turbidity (a muddiness of vision?) of unsought reasons"

It sounds to me like someone has been offended
and it has provoked the warrior to come forth to
put right the injustice.
