Sometimes we think that God does not hear, does not answer our prayers, but
doesn't he?
Lord, sometimes I wonder, if you hear a word I say
I asked you to help me
And that was yesterday!
Lord can you hear me?
I called out to you today
I said I needed help
But you had nothing to say
Lord can you see me?
I am in such pain
You did not even calm me
Or address my fears.
My daughter heard me asking
And she said “Mommy, I don’t
Understand!”
“You said that God ALWAYS answers,
you said He holds us in His hands!”
I looked into those precious eyes and
I God was speaking now.
He was reminding me with my own words
Of how He answers prayers.
My daughter then continued,
“Mommy don’t you see? You said God answers
Every prayer you said it would be one of three!”
She said, “Don’t you remember Mommy, sometimes He says
“Yes”, and sometimes He says “no”, but the hardest one of
all, is when He says “wait on me”.
God was telling me to wait.
I had not asked you see
I had been demanding, not praying
I had not waited for the answers
To my problems, I had only whined
And complained.
When all I ever needed
Was to wait to hear Him call my name
So Lord, please forgive this spoiled child
That I have become
And know that I am waiting, worshiping
All the while, with no demands
Knowing that I am always in your hands

So TRUE, So TRUE. Knowing this a living this sometimes are two different things but eventually comes together as one.
Dear Dr. D, Sometimes it's such a puzzle to us why God does not seem to answer, but you've explained it so well. The waiting game is a hard one to play, and it's easy to give up on God. Many people do that, thinking He doesn't care or doesn't answer. But He is there all the time and He knows what's the absolute best for us.
I'm glad you gave the key in your poem--"waiting, worshiping All the while, with no demands Knowing I am always in your hands"
