Have you ever wondered
What He saw
As he hung on the cross that day?
Were His eyes filled with images
Of places He’d been
or was he thinking of all
the people He’d seen?
When all the sin that ever had been
And all the sin to come
Was laid on Him, the Holy One
Did He ask to have it undone?
But as I wonder, the answer is clear
I know what the image was
As His Holy blood filled His lungs
And as He struggled for that last breath
My Savior, The Holy Son
Had only one image in His sight
As He cried out to God with all His might

Dorothy, this is an awesome poem. One reason I like it is that it brings the crucifixion of Jesus Christ up-close and personal. Trying to place yourself there is a great help in understanding more of what was involved in that event.
It really happened, and He really gave His life in agony for ME!
Someday, when He returns for me, I will bow before Him and worship Him in person. Until then, I can know Him and live for Him, as He directs me in the way to go.
