I've traveled this road many times before
It’s long and it's hard, but I'll endure
Many are the obstacles on my track
and time is a demon upon my back
The rhythm of the run as my feet hit the ground
Cars passing by shout doppler's sound
distracting beauty is all around
I would stop., but my legs still pound
The uphill path is not the easiest one
pain is a pigeon from which strength comes
Reunited with the challenge of the path once more
like a dear old friend I adore
As I approach the finish line
ready to drink of heavens wine
of cheating time I'll stand accused
I'm guilty as charged, I cannot lose
When asked why? I chose to delay
I'm sure I'll smile and politely say
I've served in ryhme and slaved in run
I will not walk until I'm done
