Sometimes in the deep of the night,
I awake with a deep sense of loss and fright.
I reach out to you with seeking, desperate fingers.
I am reassured by your solid presence that lingers.
So much of my present is colored by the pain of the past.
I was scared when I first began loving you, wondered if it would last.
I threw caution to the wind, doubts were thrown aside.
My job ended, my sister died, I held thoughts of you and me inside.
You lovingly told me to move up here with you, not wait.
I did without too much thought, for being with you felt too great.
We lived together for just under a year.
Learning to live with each other, loving without fear.
We married, lost a child, and found that loving was so sweet.
I look at you with wonder, for love finally brought me a treat.
You look at me when you catch me watching you.
I know I stare at you sometimes for you are a dream come true .
My husband, my love, my reason for living…
to you, my heart, I will always be giving.
I came to you with pain that others gave to me out of fear and cruelty.
You soothed me, loved me and healed my soul. To you, I pledge my fealty.
I will never leave you for any other.
I will never stop loving you, in one form or another.
I will always give you my love and caring.
Throughout this lifetime and beyond, we will always be sharing.
You promised my sister you would take care of me
You have kept your promise to her and me so tenderly.
I love you so much. I can't express all my inner thoughts or feelings well.
If we had a thousand years together, I would still be telling you how I deeply I feel
