Defending Our Domain (Short Story) - 2/5/2006 10:29:02 PM
I liked the action, the pacing, and vision behind this work. It reads like an out-take however. Is there more before and it? If not, I think there should be. I'm especially interested in how these powers came to her. And a logic issue; if she can transport matter around like nuclear bombs and stuff, why does she need to use a hover sled an laser sword? Godlike powers would seem to be enough. What's she need technology for? background on the story--or knowing the rest of it--would answer some of these things.
Defending Our Domain (Short Story) - 2/5/2006 4:54:08 AM
Quite a story, and one heck of a Super Hero!
Defending Our Domain (Short Story) - 2/5/2006 4:45:52 AM

True Friends (Poetry) - 9/17/2009 11:40:20 PM
Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem of truth. A true friend will tell you exactly what it is about and won't sugar coat it with sympathy when it isn't called for. A true friend will actually pull you from the ring of fire and tell you that you won't be so lucky the next time. A true friend is there when advice is needed, and not the smushy kind either, but truthful words that can bring us back to reality. Very well written and said.
May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and who love you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie.

Upon Reflection (Poetry) - 10/25/2008 10:48:01 AM
My cat Seashore stuck with my by my side all day yesterday. It is if she knew it was my birthday and I had to celebrate it without our Tom, my hubby and here daddy. now today she is going her own way again. Cats do sense a need in you when you are sort of sad. They try to be your ever loving friend always though.

Tell Me Lies (Poetry) - 6/6/2008 9:24:16 AM
Tell me lies, tell me sweet loving lies, that song comes to mind with this write. My former 1st husband lied and promised things he did not carry through. Was an awful time for me and I cannot forget the lies he told me, but I forgave him when he passed away, as it should be. ***********
Gettysburg (Poetry) - 6/6/2008 9:21:11 AM
Live 45 minutes away from Gettysburg, always happy to visit and tour it. Like Devils Den best a series of rocks they hid in and fought. Grandkids like to play and climb there. I like to picnic there. Great thoughts written about the men and many were from far away and away from their loved ones. Love civil war novels too mostly about lost and found loves. Am a romanticist at heart. Good poem ***********

Apart From Life (Poetry) - 6/6/2008 9:16:32 AM
Rings true to me like a graduation presentation. Heard several last night and glad you have graduated to better things a you aged. You went out and made something of yourself which is what these days the newly graduated have to do and it won't be as easy as they think. Some for college, some for families, some for the service of our country, but all must get a life now. We all have to go on and have our own lives and live them as they are meant to be.

Awesome, just awesome, photo is enchanting and these words are full of enchantment.
Ocean Spirit (Poetry) - 5/19/2008 7:53:53 PM
I have heard that the ocean hates to give up its lost. Many are buried at sea never to return. I know of some whose plane went down in the ocean and they left behind children and wives in the 2nd world war. The ocean has many lives beneath it but still rolls on and on and gives us her tides.
When Life Deals You Lemons.... (Poetry) - 5/11/2008 5:03:15 PM
Don't go to bed and not resolve your anger I was taught. It is good advice, and being angry only hurts the situation and makes it profoundly longer and harder to make up. Oh but the joy afterward is scoring a hit and being together in love.
Grieving Still (Poetry) - 5/11/2008 4:59:54 PM
It's alright to grieve and to take all the time you need. When he comes to you in a dream, it is so nice but to wake up and find it isn't true is not much fun. Anyway they are with their creator and much better off than we are here. We stuggle on with our fears.
Dream Recorder (Poetry) - 5/11/2008 4:56:22 PM
Thanks for telling us your wishes for a dream recorder. Dreams are so profound sometime and should be recorded. Many we remember and do have a chance to analyze them, but some we don't remember.
I have heard dreams mean lots and can be analyzed by someone including yourself. Keep track of them and see a pattern.
Didn't I See You Today? (Poetry) - 5/9/2008 7:45:38 AM
Anger held inward lead to heart trouble and more, but anger expressed is good in a way but not anger toward others. Anger should be held in check and we should think about things rather than say them in anger. Too many impulsive things come out and anger destoys.
The Listener's Home (Poetry) - 4/26/2008 7:04:24 AM
Such a nice abandoned house. Maybe ghosts are present there now. I know a man who came from Rhode Island and he wants to move back to New Eng states in the future. Just a friend of mine, but I liked this poem very much. They were hard working people who lived there to have all those pets and animals, even a horse.************
Druid Moon (Poetry) - 4/26/2008 7:01:18 AM
I do notice your advice and like it. Not to do gossiping, have no fear. You have a way with words like noone I've read so far and each to his own in living and giving. You made my day today. Love, Lois************

True Friends (Poetry) - 3/7/2008 4:38:03 PM
I think what we all really want at the end of a day is a friend to listen to and a friend to hold us-well done
True Friends (Poetry) - 2/22/2008 5:40:19 PM
Usually what we want is a good "ear" from a friend; let us rant and rave, or have a good cry, if need be, and then give us a silent Hug. Works for me...

True Friends (Poetry) - 12/31/2007 2:05:50 PM
It is so difficult for most to say anything but to repeat what others have said to them in those particular circumstances. It is never easy to comfort someone when every situation is distincly different from another. Words convey what is in the heart and empathy is best felt in that light. Missed your work.

Thank you for a much needed visit with Oscar Wilde ! ! ! I've loved his words since I was young, and this is a great refresher. Back in school and college, I acted in several of his plays, and loved delivering some of the lines... rolling off the tongue like warm melted cheese, or flinging them across stage like a buggy whip ! ! !
As too many of the young, today, say, "Cool - or Auesome!" I say, There will never be a better writer about human nature. - Bill

Silver,
Beautifully imaged in illustration and verse, you bring the Emerald Isle vividly to life. I wouldn't mind visiting Ireland meself. As Karen said, our parents went right after 9/11 (after they allowed flights again) and were treated lovingly and graciously by the people. Made quite the impression on them, and on me, too. Well done!

Beautiful poetry, and I love the pic! Chrissy said it best I think. "If only walls could talk...maybe some can." I like this very much tho. It does haunt the soul, and makes one lament for the ones that built this house and other buildings, now watching from Heaven as it crumbles. A very sad epithet for such a wonderful home.
I am ½ Irish, ¼ Scot, and ¼ Welsh. So I also have Celtic roots. Thnx for sharing this wonderful story that has now made this home once again immortal.

The Listener's Home (Poetry) - 2/28/2006 7:31:21 AM
That dilapidated and crumbling house is meant for somebody Celtic
And once ensconed in it, the circle of life will take off again, as the Lion King said in the film !
Very atmospheric write

The Listener's Home (Poetry) - 2/28/2006 5:59:19 AM
It is so sad to see these old farmhouses abandoned by their owners and time. They have a history so rich and vast that it is such a shame to see them fall into dis repear, well said
Felix
The Listener's Home (Poetry) - 2/28/2006 5:44:54 AM
We wished to go back in time to see it in its prime.
I often feel the same when I come upon such a forlorn place on my rural wanderings.
A truly powerful piece, SilverCeltic.

Holding Out For A Hero (Poetry) - 2/24/2006 1:28:30 PM
I love fairy tales and this is one of the best I've read lately. It only goes to show what we are capable of if we relax and stop being so self-critical.
Good write, and good advice. The only thing missing was the moon shinning on her.
Bobbi

Holding Out For A Hero (Poetry) - 2/19/2006 6:10:04 AM
I love it! My husband always gets nervous when I read romance novels. He'll state very firmly: 'I'm not wearing the cowboy hat nor the Scottish kilt tonight!' LIKE he has a choice....
Holding Out For A Hero (Poetry) - 2/19/2006 5:45:39 AM

Holding Out For A Hero (Poetry) - 2/19/2006 5:16:27 AM
You have to take the bull by the horns in this world Celtic, to get what you want, and more importantly, what you need !
I love the Bonnie Tyler songs, all of them, especially Total Eclipse of the Heart !
This is very inate wisdom, you have to create your own reality in this world !
Peter
Holding Out For A Hero (Poetry) - 2/19/2006 4:17:13 AM

Proves that there are, indeed, heroes still out there.
Holding Out For A Hero (Poetry) - 2/19/2006 3:18:29 AM
Sundays are one of my favorite days of the week, especially today, since I am OFF from work at Fire Mountain! AAAHHHH!!! I can RELAX (and perhaps go to breakfast!)! I may even go to church later this evening if I so choose to! (I would LIKE to!) But I have laundry to do as we need clean clothes for work! LOL DARN, no relaxing for ME part of the day! Oh, well....LOL
Well done poem, Silver; enjoyed! Thanks for sharing! :)
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
I NEED A break: started my job at Fire Mountain on Weds., worked Thurs., Friday, and yesterday; and already have 30 hours in! WHEE! :)

Holding Out For A Hero (Poetry) - 2/18/2006 9:08:23 PM
watch out for those postal dudes ...
superb story telling!
Holding Out For A Hero (Poetry) - 2/18/2006 7:32:24 PM
True enough. (thank you, Sherry) In my case, it was taking a chance on someone I wouldn't have thought of before as someone I'd be interested in (could be your neighbor, a friend, a friend of a friend, that guy you talk to at the water cooler at work, the postal dude, etc)....a guy I was casual friends with.
Taking chances and doing things just for you sometimes work out wonderously. ;) Silver
My Knight (Poetry) - 2/18/2006 7:21:58 PM
LOL! Yep, he has two brothers. Both of them the biggest bums and jerks you've ever seen. (Boy, could I tell you some stories!) My knight was the youngest of the three boys. Mike's father died when he was nine...and they were raised by their single parent mother...who bless her, died before I knew Mike. She did a good job with Mike and unfortunately knew that her other two were squirts.
Thank you all for reading my some what syrupy tribute to my own knight. AND....Yes, Elizabeth, we ARE blessed AND lucky babes! ;) Silver
Holding Out For A Hero (Poetry) - 2/18/2006 7:16:37 PM

Holding Out For A Hero (Poetry) - 2/18/2006 7:12:31 PM
And they all lived happily ever after...sigh...Amen! This is a wonderful story/poem, Silver. I enjoyed every line and I became captivated by the progressing tale. There is a lot of wisdom in your words. If we sit around waiting for adventure and happiness to find us, we will die waiting for adventure and happiness to find us. There is no entertainment committee assigned to our life, if we want excitement, we have to go out and find it or make it happen. Excellent writing! I love this!!
Take care,
Sherry

A Fine Tribute to your Knight in Shing Armor, and I salute him as one of the Litter Box Brigade myself. But I hope my spouse doesn't read this since I haven't brought her breakfast in bed in quite awhile - I've been too busy walking the dogs and cleaning those litter boxes!
My Knight (Poetry) - 2/5/2006 4:01:55 AM
You are indeed blessed by God, Celtic to have such a loving and understanding partner !
And that is a gorgeous surreal picture which sets the scene for the composition !
I am with you on the french vanilla cappaccino and blueberry muffin. !

Druid Moon (Poetry) - 2/4/2006 6:54:12 PM
A breath of enchantment hovers within the verses as a bit of mystery intrigues. There is anticipation in the "words of power, words of fear" making me long to hear the message she brings. Not everyone will be happy to learn the lessons of the mystics as they just might challenge what we believe to be true. Wonderful poem, Silver, beautiful poetry.
Take care,
Sherry
Druid Moon (Poetry) - 2/4/2006 2:49:08 PM

I could hear the musical artist's 'Enya' in my ears while reading this mystical prose.
Druid Moon (Poetry) - 2/4/2006 6:16:14 AM
an engaging sojourn into how the mystical powers offering knowledge and insight are dismissed due to fear or apathy, if what is revealed is not wanted to be heard or known ...
Druid Moon (Poetry) - 2/4/2006 6:13:51 AM
I agree with Lady A; would make a wonderful short story.
Druid Moon (Poetry) - 2/4/2006 5:33:21 AM

Shadowy Horses (Poetry) - 2/2/2006 4:30:40 AM
Both the origianal writing of Yeats and your own brilliant piece reflect the beauty of Irish folklore and the magic thar runs like a river throughout it. Your information is concise and to the point and explains a lot that the reader would otherwise miss in the poetry, as well the graphic is awesome to steal a term from a younger generaton and stirs the fires of imagination and passion.
WEll done Silver,

Silver,
It's so important to get and have meaning in ones life. Your imagery is always so in tune with reality. Sad but beautiful write, my friend.
Waiting (Poetry) - 1/20/2006 1:48:00 AM
You expound the reality of modern day living sadly !
There are few good men and women left in this material world anymore
All values and perspectives of decency, honesty and trust have been terminally eroded, leaving a vacuum of hpolessness and despair for our children
Peter
Waiting (Poetry) - 1/19/2006 10:38:56 PM
Celtic, this is an exceptional capture of the reality so many women and men too, face today. I know at least five young men mid twenties of friends and family, that have no girl and no prospect of one.The same on the female side, and they all say the same thing, theres no one that wants anything but sex anymore, and they can have that with anyone. It's so sad, I pray it changes for the youth in this generation, and soon. Thanks for sharing.....Eileen
