running through the mud
it splatters up my legs
grit and grime between my toes
at last summer has come
i am forever bare
below my pant legs
chipped toenail polish
calloused soles
they are dirty, yes
but isnt that what summer is about?
being free from restrictions
having warm cement below
this reminds me that soon
there will be water fights in the rain,
watching the stars at midnight,
and being a little kid again
... ok so i wrote this as sort of a rebelious peice because my auntie told us that we cant be outside barefoot anymore, cuz our feet get dirty... she may get mad b/c i wrote it, but... it had to be done
mud on my feet and mud pies ...thanks for the memories...loved it

I love to walk through my home and yard(even to my neighbor's) barefooted. I love the feel of the grass and all of the textures under my feet. I love the freedom this provides me.
I hope I shall never "outgrow" this pleasure.
Great write,
Sharon;)

I had a mulberry tree as a kid....our nanny would not let us in the house if the souls of our feet were blue....
