I see her face in my dreams Reach out to stroke her hair My hand closes on air Sleepless I light another cigarette Watch as a column of smoke rises to the ceiling And remains Dreamless I watch the late night news And as a volume of smoke rises to the ceiling Joyless I cry another rivulet And as the cloudlet of smoke covers up the ceiling I fall again in dream Reach out to touch her heart So near, and yet so far
