Children Lost Forever…

I heard it on the radio, just the other day.
‘Bout a man, who killed his wife, then blew himself away.
Children watched in horror as their future washed away,
Watched their mommy dying, & didn’t know how to pray.

Tiny little children, barely goin’ to school.
They might learn mathematics, but not the Golden Rule.
All things believed in, were destroyed that night,
Trust, Love, Honor vanished, never to learn what’s right.

What will happen to them, who will watch over them?
Will there be tomorrows, that aren’t so bleak and grim?
So much pain and tragedy in a twinkling of an eye.
Love lost forever and no tears left to cry.

Visions of that night are left, never to go away.
Lost forever in their childhood, ‘till their dying day.
When love is lost, it’s lost forever, never to be returned.
That’s the only thing they know, it’s something they have learned.
