One Little Piece of Paper

Going back to school is a very courageous thing to do. When someone does it and gets their degree, they should be admired. This is for my friend who reached her goals.

One Little Piece of Paper

We can't tell you how proud we are,

Of the achievements you have made.

You worked extremely hard and long,

From early mornings 'til the end of day.

It took a lot of courage and commitment,

To go back for your degree.

By doing what you did

You made me think and see.

That little paper you have received,

Means everything today.

Without that tiny piece of paper,

In that same position, you work and stay.

How can one little piece of paper,

Get us as excited as we are?

Is it because that piece of paper,

Helps you reach your shooting star?

Because of your accomplishments,

I decided to take a class.

Now I know it doesn't seem like much,

But it's a first and hopefully not the last.

They say to reach out and touch someone,

Is an important thing to do.

I wanted you to know you touched me,

And that I admire you.

Good on her; but college isn't for everyone. I went to college for two years, HATED it!! Never did graduate; dropped out. Maybe it was wrong for me to do this, but I wasn't happy! Good write, though; congrats for your friend!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :)
