Call Upon Thee!
The experiences I’ve had in my life were many that’s for sure.
Trials from childhood, marriage, children and illnesses with no cure.
But the terror of a storm that just hit the Gulf coast.
Is something I’ve never known and hopefully neither has most.
There are no words to express to them how badly I feel.
For its one of those experiences to me is surreal.
Most of the time I can say, “I know how you feel.”
But this time it wouldn’t be true and the words seem unreal.
Unless you’ve walked in someone else’s shoes,
There’s no way you could understand, or have a clue.
All you can do is pray for them and for all they have lost.
Give them a shoulder to cry on, be there for them at all cost.
To loose everything you’ve worked for your whole life long,
And to loose it in an instant, seems terribly wrong.
The feelings are so alien to me and I don’t understand.
How this could happen in this great land.
My prayers go out to those affected by this catastrophe.
And God give them strength to call upon thee.
