I wanted to go on through eternity always loving you.
But with all your defenses, my love couldn’t break through.
You held back your love so you would feel less pain.
I tried everything to crash through the barrier again and again.
My love was also vulnerable and I too felt pain.
From all your rejections time and time again.
I understood why you did it and tried not to give up.
But my heart finally broke and sadness made it erupt.
So now here we both sit, heartbroken and torn.
Love laughing at both of us, in all of its scorn.
The love we were given, the love that we shared.
