The picture is of my grandson, Dalton assending on a climbing wall.

If you have never ask the question, "what do you know about Jesus," of your child or grandchild, please ask now. For the answers are the most heartwarming feelings you will ever feel.

Little Man’s Faith

“Little Man if I was to ask you about Jesus, what would you say?”
“Do you know anything about the one to whom you always pray?”
“Do you know about his life on earth and what he did for man?”
“What could you tell me about Jesus, Dalton, Tell me if you can?”

“Yes, Grandma, I know about Jesus, I know there are three of um.”
“What do you mean, three of them Dalton, explain that again?”
“Well, there’s Jesus, God the Father and there’s the Holy Ghost.”
“I don’t know much about those two, for I know about Jesus the most.”

“These soldier guys killed Jesus but made HIM carry his own cross first.”
“HE carried it through the streets of people and he was dying of thirst.”
“Only one lady gave HIM water but those mean soldiers pushed her away.”
“Then they nailed HIM to the cross HE carried and HE died that day.”

I said, “Very good Dalton, then what?” “Why did Jesus die?”
“I’m not too sure of that Grandma, for that’s when I started to cry.”
“But do you know what the best thing is and what he does for me?
“No, Dalton what does Jesus do, is it something that I can see?”

“O’ Yes, Grandma, for he’s in my head, saying”
“You can do this Dalton; just give it one good try.”
“I listen to HIS voice and you know what Grandma? “
“I do, do it and that’s no lie.”

It often makes us take a different look at the faith we have carried for a lifetime when we hear how the littlest ones accept the gift of its discovery. One Grandma to another, a lovely and sincere write.

PRECIOUS beyond measure, Bonnie, well done! "Train up a child in the way he should go and he shall not depart from it," the Good Book says ... and you are.

A very beautiful story, and one that highlights the simple faith of a child. Dalton has learned the story of Jesus, and is wise enough to hear His voice of love and respond to it. Someday--Little Man will be a Man of God! You will make him proud too, Grandma, when he realizes that you have been one of the pillars of his faith throughout his life.
What a great blessing! Love, Connie
