Altered

The sunset, with hues of red,
words between us were left unsaid.
Sand silently washed away within time,
I waited to wonder, answers would I find?

Sea gulls squawked passing by
tears I held in were released in a cry.
The wind blew, spiraling the ocean breeze.
I thought why, why lord me?

In the distance lighting flared,
I never felt so alone, filled with despair.
Slowly the sun faded away,
I watched the passing of yet another day.

Stars glowed dimly to the altered night,
with a deep breath, I knew, I would be all right.
Footprints trailed my walking path,
echoes of time faded to aftermath.

Hi Tracey,

Lonely sounds,
Unspoken words,
Thought abounds,
Ever downwards.

Emotions feel,
Time doth heal.

The Heart's Way by Rebecca McKeehan

Love is universal and not limited to the most perfect among us. In this collection of romantic short stories and poetry, love comes to those who are decidedly imperfect, who possess very real human flaws, scars, and challenges. Awaiting us as we are.
