back in the day I heard somewhere along the lines that Hurricanes were named after women because of our moods/emotions/temper sort of thing.
But just desserts to have them named after men too.
The actual destruction & fear which terrorizes & destroys is very devestating thats for sure. But from a safe distance mother nature even in all her fury is gloriously beautiful to witness. And with a hurricane.....a long long distance view is best. Safety first. I am also glad you are safe den sister.

Good point made in this and I think I too prefer the names you suggested at least we can think of them as the enemy they often are.

Glad you're okay. Worried about you - forgot one. Osama bin Laden. =] I didn't spin up the names, or the storms. Wonder why the cutsey - pootsy names? Call 'em for the demons they are. And why aren't tornadoes named, except for the towns they uproot?!?? Too many, I guess.
