YOU WERE THERE
I reach across the bed at night
I find you lying there.
I touch your hand and scoot up close,
I say a little prayer.
I hear you breathing softly
The shadow on your face.
How did we get this old my love
Our youth has left without a trace.
The moonbeams glow through the drape
Not a doubt do I feel
I love you more each passing day
It shows with such great zeal.
I listen as your breathing slows
I know within my heart
I love you even more today
Than I did from the very start.
You mean so much to me my dear
I tell you from my heart
I’ll be with you till the very end
Until we two must part.

Oh this is sooo sweet! (Is that an ant on your shoulder?) Just kidding, really it is a wonderful poem and flows with tenderness and
pure love....a real blessing!
