She summons me from cantilevered shadows
vibrating my soul-strings through her whispers
The kind that leaves me aching within dreams
in longing that parallels the approach of dawn
plucked from the warming innocence of spring
She beckons me to enter her sweet kingdom
surrendering to the bright truth of eternal love
The kind that leaves behind a bittersweet pain
and only tears apart the heart in the absence
while yet glorifying one another in its existence
She regales me with intimate touches of want
reverberating the flesh with her own softness
The kind that leaves me breathless in the wake
as we extract excerpts of deep intimate passion
as easily as picking the petals of a fragrant rose
She surrounds me with a fresh unending desire
revising grand inspiration through her essence
The kind that lingers even into slumber’s arms
A religion of enhancing each other’s pleasures
without pausing to ask ourselves where it ends
She calls me from within shadows of passion
In cries that entice the hidden animal in me
The kind that makes everyone else jealous
But it would all dissipate like a helium dream
If I were to lose a moment without her near
