On the Veranda

It is early morning now
the bright rising sun exhales its rays
through the verdant luxury of the garden
under azure skies devoid of haze
I make my way upon the veranda
among the ferns still wet with dew
and I, with laden brush in hand
continue obsessively to think of you

I wish only to imagine you posing
for the caress of my anxious brush
an extension, if you will, of my fingers
in the sweet shade of this garden lush
memory attempts to grasp your image
an unquenched thirst in my body grows
to coalesce with you in our hunger
as our lust in expression shows

I struggle in imagining your body
as you freely present yourself nude
without shame in this loving and giving
that defines what had elegantly ensued
from behind I cupped your breasts gentle
full cradled within the palms of my hands
diffusing those ghosts of your yearning
on the veranda where our fantasy lands

Now I have reached in this verdict
that love unconditional has thrived
if we are guilty, then render the judgment
for it is proven this love verily arrived
it was not then what we were seeking
it flourished from recognizing our souls
and the evidence was latently inherent
on the veranda where my wanting extols

Our bodies would meld beyond distance
while unable to deny what they craved
by the twists and the turns rediscovered
in releasing love and lust long enslaved
so here we are savoring those moments
in attempt to envision tongue upon skin
tasting lip upon lip embraced in that kiss
on the veranda falling in love once again

Amor,

This has to be one of my favorites from you. The imagery tells a story and the rhythm supports it beautifully. Love the ending on this one! -Sheila
