“Gold in My Palms”

I feel no shame for having wanted you
for I became inebriated at your breast
for having studied the jut of your hips
and for having harvested all your fruits
I own no regrets for sharing your love
for I have borrowed space and time
while imbibing in your delicious wine
for becoming drunk upon your beauty
for having feasted at your special table
I have become one without manners
the moment I have announced arrival
to saturate myself in your elegant eye
to give to you all that you have desired

You were upon the horizon of women
and to that destination I have set sail
without a compass I was drawn to you
between your columns of velvet fires
your gasps were tin cans on the road
awakening me to irreversible arousal
I memorized the outline of your body
each angle and every sensuous curve
tracing your nudity by sensitive tongue
just as if it were fragile china in a storm
my kisses; a dew on your morning glory
worshipping the scalene triangle bared
in virgin thighs that never crossed paths
a gap wide enough for the sun to shine
and light up an entire city in the darkness

You become gold in these sweaty palms
I am wax in your lily breath and ivy arms
as the incense of your womanhood calls
I am a foolish mercenary in your fortress
rivaling the greed of a thousand thieves
I am awarded the keys to your treasures
given the luxury of tending your gardens
and for that, I pledge to make them grow
and I will dedicate all of my heart to you
I will sail the seas of your infinite passions
and soar in the skies of your fond desires
filling your voids and your empty valleys
and scale soft mountains to their peaks
to see you in a light no other can fathom
to love you in dimensions found only in dream

The last line of your poem is one of those lines that should always be remembered and quoted. I found the entire poem sensuous and well written; beautiful images flowing so smoothly one after the other. We all recognise these words. Eleni

Intense and written with a density that is felt in each line and even in the layout.

Inebriated, drunk... sometimes that is what love and attraction do to us. For a moment or for longer.

Amor, Welcome back, missed your poetry. You haven't skipped a beat, this poem is so magnificent! You have the midas touch, and now reach out and touch her once again, but this time in person. Go for it, this kind of love should not be lost in this lifetime.

Peace, Love, and Light,
