“Repose, My Love”

The azimuth of a citrine yellow crystal
shimmers high in the well worn sky
playing hide and seek in the clouds
and this thick blanket of valley fog
a drizzle falls upon my fragile feet
I look down to see their advance
hoping to find you when I look up
you return in the vegetable garden
in a corner by an unlatched gate
humid and bent in an argon mist
while I am hunched over tilled soil
exactly how I hunch over the piano
whenever I become inspired by you
each note a kiss upon your cheek
in the melody that imagination forms
in the medley of loves sweet whispers

as I have composed it but for only you
I, tattered bone with a quickened heart
the moment you arise from your tomb
a chamber that you called an absence
a break from a hap hazardous world
I recognize you behind wild shadows
your voice is achingly soft and surreal
but it honestly does no longer matter
for you have spoken with your eyes
and you found your way to my smiles
very well, I shall dream of you in stereo
awakened with your breath on my back
while I slip in and out of a Teflon dream
as you become a hieroglyph in my eye
and another song deep within my heart
as I write of our love full of crescendos

I capture you in the sharps and minors
the sevenths and well into the midnight
I blink no longer for I fear you will leave
disappear into the same cold shadows
that bears a surreptitious resemblance
to the sharp cacophonous resonance
that I have tried for too long to avoid
that same drumming in my arid soul
that vibrates loneliness and solitude
and that vacuum that only you can fill
so let all the music within us continue
and celebrate those notes between us
for I shall take my leave long before you
to wait until you reappear in the pauses
within these rests that pervade my life
when I take from you my cue to repose

Amor,
The way you write can mesmerize. Each thought flows beautifully into the next. Each note precise. Great!

You two so deserve one another. I just love what each of you do. She kicks, you receive. You serve, she volleys. Then you each bob & weave. Well,,,, something along those lines.... Whatever it is, keep it up, you're both so good.

Thanks Dick

A beautiful piece, almost too beautiful to be stuck on the printed page but instead feels like it must continue right of the page and on into real life.
Blessings,
Christine
