She has a crescent smile that stretches over the horizon
With a crepe paper view of what is hidden deep inside
There are no artificial tears when they spill over with joy
that supersedes the genuine that resides along the way
It is a magical walk when she comes to visit from afar
When she drifts into an imagination that knows no end
For it is the color of my dreams she mimics in her eyes
As they dance over the crescent warmth of her ruby lips
Tilted to perfection where it amazes me in that depth
In an unpretentious heart that beckons my response
Or an intrepid wink that links the ancient moon and stars
To the sweet notes of a chorus emanating from heaven
I know it is not crooked as a brook that meanders below
And it takes no shortcuts to revitalize my aged heart
But I still notice when she smiles from a distant precipice
when she looks my way to see if I may be awakened
Timeless poetry, Amor...it's like a revival today here on the den and I welcome everyone back...such great poetry fills the void! This is the line that does it for me. You've got the magic still, and always!
