Carmel Night (Dedicated to Josefina)

We walk hand in hand on the beach of Carmel
among driftwood and the sand castles of May
silencing the secrets buried beneath our flesh
making efforts that our eyes do not betray us;
the fantasies that we now and then entertain;
the responses that we audition in our hearts;
the guilt that we desperately wanted to erase
as if time could ever stand still in the hesitation
while libidos awaken in a pina colada sunset
And we would be surrounded by the darkness
where our hearts would flutter in the next step
in the awkwardness of finding ourselves alone
when we would stop and kiss in the curiosity
just like children alone for the very first time
And we recline upon the cotton candy sand
under the branches of a Monterey cypress
that etches the sky with our heavy breathing
And then her tongue plunges deep against mine
intertwining like the in and out motions of tides
And effortlessly she spins my heart on its axis
as she prepares the moon for my amazement
for I know her heart craves a romantic melody
that can only be fulfilled in the music of her soul
and quenched by these minutes that we share
She sighs and moans with her sensual subtitles
while she ushers in fantasies like the full moon
her body painted by the light of a thousand stars
lit in the luminosity of phosphorescent dreams
and she voluntarily enters the point of no return
gouging out my flesh with her warm thirsty lips
as she guides my hand deep into her universe
along the moist furrows of soft forgotten youth
through the crushed velvet of a purple orchid
where I palpitate a raised mound of ripe desire
and awaken the lost child residing within her;
exorcising restraints that possessed her soul;
smudging the line between right and wrong
It is a Carmel night with a light pacific breeze
and the sweet taste of the sea fills our lungs
blending in with the salivation of our bodies;
mixed with the concoction of vodka and lust;
as caramel kisses continue to pour like rain
And all that remains are the imprints in sand
lost in the shuffle between footprints and stars

*Dedicated to a great friend in Josephine Wooten who is an inspiring talent and wonderful soul. A grand poetess who has the ability to see with her heart farther and deeper than most. A home girl who truly brings home the definition of "down to earth".
