She has no way to survive without me
gathering strength from the blood of my veins
and then tears into my flesh so she can bleed
leaving gaping wounds to fill with her tears
She collects rainwater with an inverted funnel
and sends her voice subtly into my thoughts
She implores me to join her in a drawn bath
and lathers me well with luxuriant whispers
She then fills the room with tapered candles
but she does not light them;
She fills crystal goblets with fine champagne
but then she does not drink;
She fills my ears with words of romance
and my nostrils with her alluring perfume
all the while magnolia fingers do the talking
and her sensuous breath fills my soul
awaiting obsession from out of dwindling suds
She has perfected the art of shaving
until her skin becomes smoother than silk
And she transforms herself into innocence
without shedding a single drop of blood
and in the pure granite of her faith
to worship a pleasure dome of her making
relentlessly hunting me down for a ritual
distracting me so that I cannot concentrate
her blood runs hot in her wild ascension
and my circulation runs in imperfect circles
dissention is a foreigner in her heaven
so I shall not be a cloud in her skies
I will not be a root in her cellars
Living in darkness not knowing her love
I could pretend to be cool and callous
but my body would betray every attempt;
and the truth would become her altar;
and she would center herself on the proof;
while bathing me in the waters of giving;
while delicately smoothing my pain;
removing the wrinkles of my imperfections
She bathes me in stars from Andromeda
and from constellations undiscovered yet
Her eyes of diamond see deep into me
and allures quickly the hidden beast
that only she has the secret to control
and undaunted, she unlocks the shackles
of which no one else possesses the key
Her beauty has the power to enslave me
and commit me to her dedicated service
The art of her becomes fully evident
as if I had, myself, created her in dreams
for my adoration of her is never false
nor has my focus upon her ever dwindled
for she has never once left my thoughts
*A dedication to Tracey Hardie who has continuously inspired me with repetitious breath from deep within the heart of her.
