I wanted to escape all of the serious subjects I've been writing about. What better than chocolate, and this is for everyone unless you are alergic to soy and chocolate.

First response
Yuk!
Not to be confused
With an alien body snatcher
Invasion from Mars.

This pie is
Chocolate heaven
In disguise
A best kept secret
Since hiding inside
Bland tofu
Intensifies
The flavor of foods
Combined.
Oh, yummy, yummy
Rub your tummy.

Hard to believe a ‘dark’
Decadent chocolate taste
Combined with tofu
Benefits the
Cardiovascular and
Helps smooth sailing
Through menopause
With a host of other
Healthy goodies galore.

Ditch the dairy.
Skeptics slip to
www.milksucks.com
And sugar’s a pain
Ask Jack Lalanne
Sweeten this candied confection
With Agave nectar
Sans tequila’s worm.

This treasure map
Leads to a pleasant surprise
If you balance
Taste.

The Chinese
Have gobbled tofu for
Thousand of years.
Ever wonder why
The Japanese live
So long?

My sixteen year old daughter,
A very picky eater,
Doesn’t like mushrooms
Or zucchini,
Loves this concoction.

“When are we going to make
Chocolate tofu pie again?”

“Maybe for your birthday.”

: (  “Ohhh!”  : (

Ingredients:
two 10 ounce containers of soft or silken organic tofu
Two four-ounce packages of baker’s, unsweetened chocolate – but use only six of the ounces. This is the chocolate that has no milk or sweeteners added. Use six ounces of the eight. If you add milk, you lose the health benefits.
One bag of malt sweetened chocolate bits. There are no dairy or refined sugars in this chocolate. It comes in a red bag. Use half of this bag. If you skip this ingredient, add more of the baker’s, unsweetened chocolate.
Agave nectar. This is a low absorbing sweetener that is absorbed into the body slowly. Considered safe by scientific studies.
One package of ready made whole wheat pie crust (recommended for fiber).
Use one tablespoon of arrowroot for a thickener

Directions:
Mix the tofu in a blender with the arrowroot or another natural thickener.
Heat the chocolate in a pan (double boiler hopefully) until melted and pour into blended tofu and mix.
Add the Agave nectar.
Taste to make sure it is sweet enough and that the bitterness from the baker’s chocolate is gone. Add more Agave if desired.
Blend until it is all one smooth color.
Pour equally into the pie pans.
Put pies in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Let pies cool after cooking; put in refrigerator after they are cool.
The pies will be ready the next day.

Yum!   :D

I was a vegan for about 20 years so I can agree that there are ways to make fabulous foods without the adddition of animal products. Tofu in the hands of a good cook is like a blank canvas under the brush of an amazing artist...everything wonderful is possible.
Take care,
Sherry
