The rainbow is made of colors so bright
It glistens with each shade of hue.
A pallet of oils so flawlessly light
It dances on skies of blue.
Pale yellow and greens reflect the sun
As it flits through the masses of clouds
Romping around like a child having fun
Playing peek-a-boo on the run.
It beckons the soul to look up above
To find what we all have lost
A childhood grace from long ago
From a simpler time and place.
The fast paced era we all are consumed
Going hither, thither and yon
Racing as quickly so not to miss
The things that are yet to come.
Too many things try to erase
What we know can't be undone
But alas, we continue to speed like the wind
In hopes for high tech and more fun.
The rainbow has promised, if only we look
Toward its arching colorful book
It tells us more than we want to know
In its magnificent word.
