I may as well call this poem 'who's your perfect lover'

because each poem I submit has that in the biggest print

hint hint hint

and my title

the poem's name

is pushed off the frame

and it's driving me insane

and totally nuts

as it juts juts juts

it's way above my words

as large bold blue birds

to be the be all and end all of what I write

adverts in sight

is it alright?

Not on your bloomin' life

there above my poem

the title on each one

(almost every one)

ugly as can be

crushing verse of me

who's your perfect lover?

Not you baby...

never ever you...

so what do I want you to do?

Shoot through

or shrink a bit

so my heading will fit

above my poem

in the centre

so my eyes will enter

down straight

that will be great

then I wont hate

that stupid add

the one that' make's me mad:

Who's your Perfect Lover?
yeh...that's the one.

It's done...the rant...it's done!

Kay, it's possible that the reason some folks didn't understand the point of your "rant" is because they don't see the ads. If they are using Mozilla browsers, with the "Adblock" extension, your page might not show any of the ads to them at all. I had to fire up Internet Explorer to see what you were talking about. It was quite an eye opener to see the title of your poem squished clear over to one side! Holy Cow!

In my old Mozilla browser your page renders perfectly. The title is nicely centered across the top and the poem is directly below it. I know that advertisers may not like it much, but it's amazing how much cleaner the Internet is when it's not viewed through Internet Explorer. Mozilla browsers, with "Adblock" let the viewer decide what they wish to see.

Anyway (before I start an anti-IE rant of my own :o) I thought knowing how different browsers can render your pages differently might clear up the possible misunderstanding from some of your reviewers.

You make some very valid points, Kay. I absolutely hate advertising. I've developed a sense that allows me to completely ignore the ads. Thank you for this. Love and peace to you,

Regis

Very nicely done Kay, the poem itself is very good and the message is pretty clear too, and i for one totaly agree with you, I think if there has to be adverts on the page then so be it, after all authorsden is a buisness and needs funding but why does it have to be directly above each poem? it does take away something from the meaning of the writes, and it's a shame,
Take care now.

Yes Victor, this rant/poem is just my way of protesting against the large adverts that AUTHORSDEN constantly places above the poetry and this poem is prfect example of it...the main advert I object to is the one called 'Who's your perfect Lover' and I especially did not like it when it was put above poem called 'Don't Hang Him' which I submitted recently .I thought such a large advert of that kind over my serious subject poem demeaned my poems message. As you can see on this poem I gave my poem the same name as the advert but the submission tital is pushed to the right of the screen and the actual advert (in the blue writing)is above the poem slightly to left(as it was in past poetry)...I really hate that advert being over my work and so I wrote this poem/rant to get my message out but only a few I think got my meaning...thank you for being one whom understood.
Best wishes always to you and yours
From
Kay.

You are right Kay. I have deleted two pictures because the roses and the fish had writing on them. I have given up adding pictures. AD probably need the room. Best wishes Joyce

Am I right in thinking your rant is about the adverts on the side of your title at the top of the page? They are rather irritating, but I suppose the organisers here must make some money to keep fees down. Like TV, more advert time than the actual film or show or whatever they are transmitting. Victor
