 Happy Eyes

        be they brown or blue or hazel or green

We’ve known them,

         you and me,

we’ve known them,

         those special people,

be they younger or older,

        be they boy or girl

be they woman or man,

         we’ve known those special people,

those to whom however many curves

         life heaves at them,

those to whom however many blows are received,

         we’ve known those special people,

those with Happy Eyes,

         those that twist with the curves

those that roll with the blows.

Happy Eyes

        be they brown or blue or hazel or green

we’ve known them,

         those special people that 

show a glad face throughout

         whatever life throws at them.

We know those people,

         those special people

that being with...

      that merely being with dissipate our own problems,

      dissipate our  own fear,

dissipate the loneliness we feel.

Happy Eyes

        be they brown or blue or hazel or green

love may be gone,

        yet somehow, some way

those people,

        those special people,

those with Happy Eyes

        persevere with the loss of love,

those special people,

        those with Happy Eyes

persevere through illness or pain,

        those special people,

be they brown or blue or hazel or green

      those special people,

those with Happy Eyes smile... 

       and to your soul the smile,

the smile of those with Happy Eyes

        warms you,

warms you to the soul.

Happy eyes,

         Physically ill,

Ill in body and soul yet,

         yet those special people,

those with Happy eyes

        though hurting

those with Happy Eyes portray warmth,

         portray love, portray health.

And we,

         we the sad,

we the ill,

         we the lonely,

we within direct sight

         or within the peripheral sight, 

the sight of those special people,

         of those with Happy Eyes,

we the sad, we the ill,

         we the lonely come from the sight

of Happy eyes feeling less sad

         feeling less ill,

feeling less lonely.

We’ve known them,

       those people,

those special people,

     those with Happy eyes.
