considering the circumstances,
the young man would have been
just as excited with his wife’s
pre-pregnancy nipples.

However…

Reconciliation6 PG13

Chicago, Illinois

June 21, 1957

Circling twice,

the young man parked in the furthermost,

most secluded spot.

Turning the motor and lights off,

 “Baby,”

he asked,

“you want to move to the back?”

Quickly transferring from front to rear

sitting closely,

an arm over her shoulders

one hand flat upon her ribs

where,

radiating through the material of her bra and chemise,

the soft warmth of a breast lay

within the bow of his thumb and forefinger.

Beginning tenderly,

became impassioned

the kiss lengthening

as,

the soft warmth filling the palm of his hand

as a button was unbuttoned

—by the wife—

as,

slipping through,

clasping the soft, warm, silky bulb

as,

 “ I love you!”

Before the young woman’s pregnancy

had changed the aspect of her breasts,

holding a breast in this manner,

circling the embossed nipple with his thumb

he could feel the tightening

as the circle of sensitive tissue became excited.

However it had been so long since he’d touched

his wife in this way,

he’d forgotten the change within her nipples,

and the enlarged,

now course circle of flesh excited

him in the way the first touch

of a new girl had always excited him.

Although,

considering the circumstances,

the young man would have been

just as excited with his wife’s

pre-pregnancy nipples.

However…

Sensing his excitement,

her excitement heightening also,

“Honey”

her hand moving from her lap to his lap,

“I love you, too!”

Her fingers instantly finding

and tightening about the

hard cylindrical shape.

Earlier in this day,

both sure they would never again

be as this with the other,

now though,

each touch as though it were the first touch.

The excitement of now as it was then,

when each touch truly was the first touch.

Aw, this is such a sweet and heartfelt look at lovers reuniting; you have hit all the elements of tenderness and caring with your talented quill of silver. I love your PG 13 poem... such soft, romantic words... ahhhh. Takes me back and I'm loving the journey.
