Heaven, My Heaven

Understand first,

I am not looking for a sermon

Nor a biblical interpretation.

That said: 

My interpretation of heaven

…Though truly

Not much of a believer in heaven

…However

“Heaven”

Heaven

If there is such a place as heaven

That is truly how you

That is truly how I

That is truly how each of us

Interpret this place called heaven.

Then heaven to you

Then heaven to me

Then heaven to each of us

Must be your interpretation

Must be my interpretation

Must be our separate…

Must be our own individual interpretations

Because when one thinks of heaven

One thinks of eternity

And what eternity means to you

And what eternity means to me

…And how I wish to spend eternity

Most probably would not be

As you wish to spend eternity

…Heaven to me would be

To be with the dogs of my past

For though I have loved

Those that gave me birth

And she that gave

Birth to my children

And my children

And those throughout my life I have loved

…Those throughout my life I have loved

Might not wish to spend eternity with me

Because if any have a thought of heaven

They must have their own heavenly interpretation

And so must be within their heavens.

…As for me

Heaven to me would be

To be with the dogs of my past

…As for me

My heaven would be populated with few people

Because what does one do in heaven?

What does one do in “this better place?”

“Being in a better place”

What does this mean?

“Being in the arms of God”

What does this mean?

The “Better Place?”

The Better Place

What does this mean

Truly a place of milk and honey?

A place of no stress

A place of no anger

A place of no worry

A place of love

Does the soul of one

In the “Better Place”

Float as an atom

Above fields of green

Or beneath skies of blue?

“In the arms of God”

In the arms of God

What does this mean

Is one enfolded within the arms

Of one’s “Heavenly Father”?

In the arms of God

Is one as an atom

Enfolded within the arms of God

Among the countless multitudes

Of those that came

And those that went before you

And those that came

And those that went before me?

“Heaven”

My heaven cannot be as your heaven

“Heaven”

What does that mean?
