His eyes are so true and loyal

And calm,

like that of a golden retriever

He shoots me his innocent grin

And washes the filth of perception from my eyes

like a baby’s first smile

He laughs with the purity of children

Boundless

Free

Giggling with the echoes of little boys,

And melts my heart

And he whispers--

In his sweetest voice--

“I love you!”
