The Best Sport

Well he got the medal for the Best Sport
It doesn't mean he can run so fast
But when he stood in line he never complained, about being last

To speak up would be my first reaction
Yeah, no one can take advantage of me
But he was so happy to be there
He just waited patiently

It would have been so hard for me
But it was easy for him
Some people say, you can't be a winner that way
But he got his medal in the end

The camp counselor said, sometimes he got left behind
He got cuts and bruises when he fell a time or two
But someone was always watching over him
And each time, he never knew

I know we can't all be the Best Sport
When the world leaves us battered and bruised
But I know the Lord is always watching over us
And each time, we never knew

It would have been so hard for me
But it was easy for him
Some people say, you can't be a winner that way
But he got his medal in the end
And we'll all get our medal in the end
