you who would suck up to carrots of gold on a stick
whether in hidden coffers offshore
or upon festooned plates for offerings

Yes you who know better
boiling fear-mongering in your sauce pan du jour
need to step away from the overly stoked flames of influence
and get out of the kitchen

As those of us informed
have scanned your gluttonous recipes
choosing raw seeds and nuts
over your refined junk-food-rhetoric called

the cliché fits
your place or mine
uttered behind sanctimonious whisper

while coveting a new Brand of
cross-keyed tiara

but against deceit and false witness

and it's only a matter of time before

of sludge once delusional power and greed
