There are many times
when rancor’s praying mantis
patiently waits.

Frozen manacles
and rusted irons
gripping a fearful heart
remain motionless.

Vindication’s moment brandishes insentience,
submissive smiles became
hard won immunity
and destiny evades demise
as it gently disarms
disguised weapons of slavery
with compassion’s embrace.

Life challenges

become lessons earned
warming one's frigid past,
defrosting harbored resentment,
marooning stubborn disappointment,
evaporating icy delusions,
and replacing resentful eyes
with misty tears of forgiveness.
