Loneliness Mundified
Health of one’s inner spirit
Did the isolated vigil take hostage,
Tugging the smiles away,
Wrinkling the eyes of love,
Staggering the gait once bright,
Rendering wakened days into grave-like darkness.
Then…
Came one night,
Epiphany via a vivid dream
Presented the day visible,
Nature’s always present light
Shown through the clouds,
Where despair had shackled the heart,
Giving rise to a grin for the resident squirrel,
Opening eyes to acceptance as a balm for the soul,
Urging a sprightly jaunt once again.
A return of the now,
The past, malice free,
The present, forgiving,
The future inviting the return of self-esteem.
Dark clouds were absorbed by sun’s warmth,
Its rays willingly caressing a healing heart,
Like the aid such beams of life
Give to any withered plant,
Any withering creation,
Any existence needing to live.
Loneliness set adrift,
Synaptic gifts returned,
Cognitive attention renewed,
Creative energy found purchase,
Laughter came in bursts of joy.
From what source speculates one,
But the leaves,
The trees,
The grass,
The flowers,
Enjoined with their slow dance of love,
Perhaps for the once beleaguered spirit?
