Creation's Collage

A world without creative daring risks succumbing to reality’s plague: a desolation of spirit. (Image by Pinterest)

Poem Artwork

Creation’s Collage

Innovation…

So many sizes
So many types
Horns ala Miles
Baton ala Dudamel
Curtain ala O'Neill
Blackout ala Alvin Ailey

Walk-throughs…

The Met
MOMA
Guggenheim
Whitney

Then the ache…

Actors Studio
Steppenwolf
Goodman
Oregon Shakespeare
So many regional agonies

And the silver screen…

Ever infrequent unique cinema clinging
Amidst movie movies

Forget not literature…

Let us respect even permanent breaks
Wallace
Hemingway
Woolf

And lest we forget Nature…

The mother of life's subtle intervals
Ever cycling its wisdom
Seeking our theatre's darkness

Intermissions…

Life knows of pause
But often waits for us
To squander its use

While…

For those drinking of contaminated water
Art remains relegated as
Nectar of Gods forsaken
Yet for those of pure thirst
Avoiding such sustenance
Render imagination's spirit dying

Strange to call the above intervals
Still
Without the pause
We remain vulnerable
Overwhelmed
By necessities unnecessary

Might it be…

Without some imaginative breaks
Life remains forever
Just
Reality?

Fine insights that we have come to expect. As Richard said, we need to think out of the box. "We remain vulnerable overwhelmed by necessities unnecessary." Real creativity is only for those who dare.

I could actually hear Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are a Changin' in my mind while I read your words. Always "food for thought", Odin! That's what your words do to me.............they take me away!!

Love ya!

I find the reality of Nature with its very innovative process creating new species as we watch, very creative. I didn't see music, or did I miss it.

No one cares about the man who thinks in a box. The man who disappears into himself. So many poets do just that. Their minds become a cesspool of trivia and arbitrary facts. Healthy creativity requires reconceptualizing reality, mostly because the creative mind connects things that other people do not see or even think about. Creative thought can change how we see things, yes... but changing the reality of how things really are, is a different set of challenges. You need unity for that. So, question your assumptions, always. Choose the lens with which you view the world through. Use creative experimentation. Practice thankfulness and appreciation. And always seek out the kind of inspiration that gets you out of your own thought patterns. Thanx 4 sharing. enjoyed your insight. r
