Dismemberment
Yes
We try to praise a world dismembered,
Where nettles of hatred remain overgrown,
Becoming the garland of nepotism infecting the soils
Of humanity’s struggle to mature,
Even as executioners rejoice
With gangrenous laughter
As life’s prerogative is suddenly dismembered.
How…
And when did humankind become so skeletonized,
So disconnected to hearts and innate abilities to distinguish?
Few of us…
Have uncontaminated memories,
Those entitlement moments of ephemeral privilege
Requiring ultimate patience,
Strength,
Trust,
And truth,
In order for the moment to be perceived
And not lost to the captivity of hatred’s partner,
Malice.
Are there not rewards…
For those remaining clear-eyed and rational,
Letting capricious autumn leaves of change eddy over the world’s infections,
Incisions
And scars,
Knowing yesterday’s white feather of the dove
Doesn’t float about in vain?
For…
In spite of the many mutilations
Inflicted on Man’s capacity to reason,
Discernment shares its rationale
And allows its noetic compass to steer purpose back toward
Creation’s stalwart paradigm.
As you take in the gentle breeze of healing,
Listen for a whispering voice of hope
And the tender brushing of gossamer’s plume
Across your heart and soul.
Never lose focus,
As Reality’s clock
Continues ticking
As tomorrow's decimation
Gives little credence to measured time.
Letting capricious autumn leaves of change eddy over the world’s infections,
Incisions
And scars,
Knowing yesterday’s white feather of the dove
Doesn’t float about in vain?"
Let us hope and pray for this and keep that "white feather" floating high!!! Thank you for this fine piece of work!!
Love ya!

Love the creativity and variety of language found here, such as: "when did humankind become so skeletonized" as well as "lost to the captivity of hatred's partner, malice."
Also, stunning images in your penultimate stanza, and its message of hope.
