I find it important to remind myself from time to time that I am merely a microbe in the vast art of creation. (Image by Odin AI)

Masterpieces In Progress

The sun bleeds into the horizon a canvas of molten gold,
a dying ember reflecting in the mirrored surface of a still pond.

Yesterday's quietness,

stories left unrepeated,

unique moments carried on the wind,
a chorus of memories rustling through the leaves.

We gather these echoes,

Like fragmented shards of seashells,
each one a precious remembrance,

a memory held close.

Some of us build fortresses,

towering monuments enclosing our memorable accomplishment,
but within these walls

,

a quiet fear takes root,
a dread of the future,

reminding us where the-yet-to-be-told stories await.

We hoard our memories locked in a guarded chest,
believing they are ours.

But in this hoarding,

we miss the grand design,
the open canvas where stories entwine.

Lest we forget…

Every soul is but a brushstroke,

a vibrant hue,

where our experiences enjoin
with the canvas of totality.

No need for borders,

no need for claim,
for in the unframed masterpiece,

we are part of a vibrant symphony

 in Time’s patient embrace,
where ripples remain without boundaries,
within creation’s grand space.

Deserving of three read-throughs, this zoomed-out portrait of our place in the Universal Tapestry holds wisdom in so many of these lines. Two prominent ones for me are: “No need for borders,/no need for claim.” Those two lines point to the error of ‘exclusivity’ and ‘ownership,’ both of which are harmony foibles. So few words to envelope an expansive concept. I like these recent writings of yours that focus on how minuscule our little lives are, but how integral to the ‘whole’ are we, too. My own depiction of us as the ‘particles’ we are, is that we are like bubbles in a bottomless brewsky. Keep the words flowing like the fizz in the glass rising to the top and forming again at the bottom. ~~ djl

"Where ripples remain without boundaries, within creation's grand space." Indeed, creation itself but a ripple amid boundless infinities. Such a masterpiece.

We are created human and social beings. Your prosetry seems to entreat us to join with others on this coil time that we have get to know one another and work together for a better world.
