Beginnings in Perpetuity

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

It’s difficult for me to not believe beginnings never end. Perhaps better said, allowing and urging beginnings after a momentary end has been my salvation. (Image by Getty)

 Beginnings in Perpetuity

Wanting
As thirsty seedlings
                          I awoke

Falling toward other beginnings
Pollinations unbridled
                         I knew

Warm life met me
Waiting sounds
                          I heard

Soft urges
Anxious sounds
Holding my inborn stillness
                          I traveled

With cries of birth
I decreed my death
Sun did shine
Rains did come
                            I lived

Collecting earth-time
Singing its experience
Clock hands began their hesitation
Movement ever cautious
                            I'm ready

Archives labeled
Summoned filings completed
Make of my heart
A final expansion
Into the next ever living

Gradient motion

Of a new beginning.

A life will travel and finally fulfilled. I'm getting there.

For me, one of the great lessons in nature is the one about birth, death, resurrection, rebirth and yes, new beginnings found even in the end. A solitary beginning and a solitary end makes no sense to be in this rich and ever imaginative world and universe. Your poem most thought-provoking. Thanks for posting and getting me going on the subject.
