Oftentimes, there's the sound of ringing in my ears.
The "DRRING,

DRRING" calls to me pleadingly.
I revel in the knowledge that it's me who ceases their pain.
It is my touch which pushes them out of their misery,
Out of that repetition which, if left unanswered,
Is also my misery and pain.
And when answered, thanks me with echoes of
SILENCE,
SILENCE,
SILENCE.
