Pesticides and Inspiration

Just what makes you think, I should leap from
my cozy, warm and comfortable bed, every morning
at 3:00 a.m., put a smile on my face, and listen to you
ramble on and on and on, about how lucky I am to
have you around? Tell me? Will you, Please? Wouldn't
it be just as 'well said' if we could wait til, oh say, daylight!

You could at the least, punch the damn 'on' button on the
coffee pot before you wake me, but NO, you won't even
do that! Quit whinin' for heaven's sakes! I'm up! Now
what was it you wanted this time? You want me to do what?
I'm going to say this one more time. Listen real close. I am
not a poet, I'm not a writer, I'm not an author. I am not an
artist of any kind. You are not my inspiration. You are not
my muse. You are a pest! Now..go away!

Don't cry. Why are you crying? Oh geez! You do this
to me every time! Hey! Snap out of it. Look what you've
done? Nope, I'm not listening to another word you have
to say, until you stop all that silly blubberin'. I can't understand
a word you are saying while you're cryin' and mumblin' under
your breath. Well just stand in here alone then..I'm goin' back
to bed. That's what I thought, I knew that would shut you up.

I'm not writing that! Do you know how stupid that sounds? Where
do you get these ideas from? Everyone that reads it will think I've
lost my mind. And to go one even further..I'm not so sure they would
be far off base. Okay..Let me see if I have this correct. You want me
to write as though I'm having a conversation with my Muse? Oh,
and you want me to make it sound as though he is a genius too? Yeah
right!

I'm going back to bed now~ Turn off the lights and the coffee pot on
your way out. Where did you go? Oh I see..it's daylight...you always
disappear when the sun comes up..
And you call yourself a Muse! What you are is a..a Pest! I guess you
think you should get equal billing too, huh?

Yes, this really hits poets. That's us.
Talk about being beside ourselves.
I was at a serious church discussion group last week, and it got on the topic of the Trinity.
If God can be schizophrenic maybe it ain't so bad.
I think we all need 3 personalities...so when we are arguing with ourselves-there is another self that can cast the deciding vote.

What is with that anyway??? Is there a special school where a muse goes to learn how to become an annoying nudge??? Mine loves to pester me while I am on the freeway driving about 70MPH. It bursts forth with the most amazing lines and verses...all which will be forgotten as soon as I can get to a piece of paper...by the way...the declining speed seems to cause my muse to disappear, too. Perhaps muses, by nature, have an inherent fear of paper. Great job, Lisa...a most entertaining write.
Take care,
Sherry

I don't know about anybody else, but I certainly get my inspiration from the sweet smell of pesticides, just inhaling it into my lungs I can see everything so much more clearly...thanks for the advice...;) Ed

Spectacular write Lisa and I know exactly the kind of muse you have cause he must be the brother to mine who also seems to think the best time to write is in the middle of the night. So if you are losing it I must have already lost it long ago.
Hugs
Felix
