Secret Places In The Heart In those very private spaces where no one ever goes I hide all the secrets that no other human knows My special dreams from childhood, and those that ne'er became That very private someone, who�s just too personal to name My own set of values for the way my lifetime grows The everyday people who�ve become my true heroes And in that space, thoughts of you, forever do remain You play through my lifetime like a song�s haunting refrain That mighty man in the shadow, who still dwells out in the cold Your heart is yet locked up in chains, as your body does grow old Your secret place tucked in my heart, o�er the years it doth remain As I hide all my thoughts and dreams, tears inside fall down like rain So when it comes to my forever That�s the place I save for you Yes, when it comes to my forever That�s the place I�ve saved for you Again, I do exit the dance while the last song is being played Dreaming of our time, all those old memories replayed �Can I Have This Dance� floats, oh, so softly, on the summer air It's always been our special song, the one our hearts do share On the last line on my dance card, your name is still displayed As my heart reels in sadness, for all our life plans we delayed It�s strange how life�s road comes with it�s twist and with it�s turn And some of life�s should�ve beens, become lessons that we learn Heroes become human and dreams do become lost As my life continues on and on, the next new bend is crossed Yet my heart still holds on tightly, to the things that it does yearn And my soul keeps on believing, one day, yet, you shall return So when it comes to my forever That's the place I save for you Yes, when it comes to my forever That's the place I've saved for you Today and tomorrow they both meld into another one Day begins and finishes with the rise and setting of the sun But all of my forever is saved for only this one man Though others they have tried and failed, in the races that we ran Through all of time I�ve always known he was my true and only one That our souls will bind together when our life on earth is done The whisper of my soul mate blows ever softly on the air And my heart clings tightly to the dreams being held so safely there The aching of my soul ever searching all to find The echo of it�s mate, with which it�s essences do bind When our souls unite in grand collide and end our life�s despair �Twill grant our promise of an endless love that we eternally shall share So when it comes to my forever, That�s the place I save for you Yes, When it comes to my forever, That's the place I've saved for you Sherry Gail Heim January 25, 2004 Copyright � Sherry Gail Heim 2004

Oh beautiful soul!
What a great scent blankets the air when I read your romantic and hypnotic words. Sherry this is beautifully framed. Your ability to capture the emotions of a strong, unforgotten love is amazing. A knot gently tightens around my old haunting thoughts Sherry, especially when I read your words: "I hide all of my thoughts and dreams, tears inside fall down like rain." Whew girl! I know it so well. Thanks for taking me to that place inside. Keep doing it. It's refreshing and cleansing. I can't wait to read more of your work. You moved me.
