This poem is remembering words of Mother Teresa.Sometimes we all get caught up during the holidays of the rush of getting things done.My hope is that this poem reminds all of us to spend some time with Jesus.

Running, running, must get this done!

They are counting on me!

Must get it done!

Let me catch my breathe!

No, I have to keep going

No time for being with me and God

No time for me

Must keep going!

The dinner must be made

The house must look just right

Oh, my head seems to be twirling

My body is like a motor going full blast

Must keep going

Must keep going

WAIT! STOP!

My body is yelling at me

It can't go any further

The engine has broken down

I sit and wonder

Is this what life is about?

I look outside the window

and for the first time

really see the trees

and the beautiful leaves

I look at a picture I have of

Jesus putting his arm

around small children

I imagine myself in the

picture and Jesus putting

his arm around me

Oh, such peace

Oh Jesus, help me

to remember what my true

purpose is

Not to do as many things possible

as fast as I can, but to rest in you so

that I can live Mother Teresa's

words of "do small things with great love."

Sixty years ago I was a high school student living alone and in great private need. A teacher--Mr. Abrams--noticed that need and did a very small deed for me which was enormously important in my life. It was an act of true compassion done with great love. I have never forgotten that moment and have carried it with me my entire lifetime, trying to pass on that act of love.

One thing I know in my heart by faith is that unselfish acts of kindness and love do not go unnoticed by God.

I invite you, Cindy, and all AD readers to visit my den site and to read my poem, "Mother Teresa."

Thank for your sharing and highlighting this God-like message: "Do small things with great love." And let me offer my own message here: When we live with God in our heart, our future is to live in the heart of God.
