This is a poem that is a little like a story about where a woman found love.

A women went on a long journey

She had to find out what and where love was

She had heard that there was a wise man

ten miles up the road

She didn't have a car

so, she went on her way

walking down a long path

She wondered if she coud walk

that far, after all she was sixty

But she had to know

As she went she noticed

the meadows and the flowers

were in  full bloom

It was like they were

dancing with her and

welcoming her on her way

She felt so inspired by their

beauty that she started to dance

Maybe this won't be so bad she thought

But then she wasn't looking where

she was going and fell over a rock

She was afraid she had hurt her ankle

What was she going to do?

She looked at her ankle to see

if it was hurt, and when she looked up

she saw a man with loving eyes, and he

asked if he could help her

She explained the situation

and where she was going and

he smiled and said "yes, I know him.

Why don't we go on my horse."

She was so grateful and didn't know

how she could thank him

Then he explained how he

had just lost his wife

and how painful it was

and how he hadn't eaten since

she died a week ago

She listened and wanted to

help in some way

"Can I give you some home made chicken I have made?"

This was the only food she had to

last her for an entire week.

"For the first time in a week,

I feel like eating something, how kind of you."

They were getting near to where the holy man was

She got off his horse and was able to walk

the rest of the way

She looked back and suddenly the man

and horse were gone

She felt sad that she wasn't able to

say good by, but maybe he was in a hurry

She finally made it to the house

She knocked on the door

and much to her surprise

HE was the holy man!

She was amazed!

"Why didn't you tell me?"

She said as she looked in astonishment

"I knew you were looking for love, and

the only way you can know love is

to experience it.What was it like

when you felt the flowers beauty

and like they were welcoming you?

What did you feel when I was able to help you?

What did you feel when you were able to help me?"

He waited for a response.

" I felt a joy and love of nature, I felt cared about when

you helped me. I felt like I cared for you and wanted to

help."

He smiled, " Oh- so what do you think that is?"

She laughed, "O.k. you win! That IS love."

"Yes, that is right. You don't look for love, you

experience and live it."

" Thank you so much. This is surely a lesson I will

always remember."

She lived the rest of her life remembering what

she had been taught.

Once again, you have touched us with your inspiration of life. A wonderfully told story.
