There was a little girl

sweet and full of joy

She smiled at all

she met and danced

as if there was music

in her heart

But then children

laughed and teased her

saying she was stupid

and laughed as she continued her dance

One day a storm came and

floods were all around

What are we to do!

The children were

crying and yelling for help

But the littel girl kept dancing

The other children didn't

undersatnd why she could

stay so joyyful, when

everything around them was falling apart!

Finally one of them asked her

why she wasn't afraid

She calmly answered saying

I dance because no storm

or pain or trouble can

keep me from the love of Jesus!

Right after that the storm settled

and a rainbow came out

Almost like it was on cue

From then on none of the children

laughed at her and they came

to her when they had problems

The little girl kept dancing and

became a young woman

and then a deeply faithful woman

who people came to from

miles around to hear her tell 

the joy of love that was in her heart

She was dancing last time I

saw her at age ninety-five.
