She seemed so confused

she didn't seem to know where she was

Her eyes looked fearful, almost in panic

Yet there she was at church

Her husband gently brought

her up the isle to receive communion

At first she didn't seem to want it

yet her husband knew that

she had always loved being at

church and recieving communion

He seemed to be trying to give

her what she most desired

but was unable to appreciate at this point

He respected her wishes and gently

helped her back to her seat

I found it hard not to be moved

and almost cried

How an illness had robbed her

of her most precious and deep desire

and her husbands attempt to

give her that precious gift

I know Jesus is smiling on both of them

Jesus knows her hearts desire

He knows the deep love

the husband has for his wife

Even though they are

strugging on earth Jesus

is well pleased and will bless both of

them  with wonderful gifts when they are heaven
