A small seed has been planted

Given to us at birth

This seed has great potential

and comes from Jesus

This little seed has wisdom

faith, and love

It is planted in each of us with great care

As we grow we can nuture and water it

with prayer, learning how to love,

serving the people who need our compassion

As this seed grows it can bring fruit

Rich spiritual fruit

to help others care and nuture the seed within themselves

They will also bear fruit

Pretty soon all these small seeds that Jesus planted

will bring much fruit to a waiting and hungry world

That will be my prayer tonight as I

lay my head down to sleep

I will dream of all the wonderful love

that will be grown in each one by the

planting of one small seed
